Lonsdale Street Roasters

This humble coffee roaster down the city end of Lonsdale Street has been at the centre of Braddon’s surging renaissance ever since it opened in 2010 with a mandate to source, roast and serve great coffee in the one location. Since then Lonsdale Street Roasters has developed a cultish following in the capital, its popularity inspiring its owners to expand further up the street with Lonsdale Street Eatery (at number 23) and further afield with Remedy by LSR in the suburbs of Kingston and Belconnen. LSR’s growth has not dampened enthusiasm among its flock, however, with lycra-hugged cyclists, uni students and straight-up coffee lovers still zealously consuming what’s arguably the best drip in town.

Location

For much of its existence the inner-north suburb of Braddon, adjacent to Canberra’s CBD, was known for little more than car yards and petrol stations. In recent years, however, the area has transformed  to become a genuinely thriving hub of boutique stores, restaurants and cafes.
