Rum Bar
This venue is permanently closed.
With lakeside views and its own corner of the vibrant Kingston Foreshore precinct, Rum Bar, one of Canberra’s newest and coolest drinking holes, has quickly become a favourite with young professionals and rum connoisseurs alike. The bar stocks an eye-watering variety of more than 300 local and international rums – enough to keep Captain Jack Sparrow occupied on a deserted island for a year. While the drinks list – which also includes wine, beer and cocktails – is Rum Bar’s chief pull, its superb Spanish-inspired pintxos (try the octopus with almond gazpacho) also keep the locals returning.
Location
Much like nearby Manuka, Kingston has long been one of Canberra’s hotspots for dining, cafes, high-end shopping and nightlife – and that reputation has been well and truly consolidated with further cultural and residential developments in recent years. An attractive, leafy, centrally located suburb abutting the south-eastern shore of Lake Burley Griffin.
