Hotel Ravesis offers the iconic Bondi Beach on its doorstep. With 12 suites and rooms in a palette of Miami-esque pastels, it’s a stylish base for your seaside sojourn. The hotel has a restaurant with indoor and terrace tables, a nightclub with live music and a street-level bar. In the guestrooms, you’ll be greeted by an array of welcome gifts, including a deck of cards, snacks and a sample bottle of the hotel’s own-label gin. The minibar is well stocked with sips such as Koval Whisky, Grey Goose vodka and Charles Lafitte champagne.

The location

On Campbell Parade, the main drag along Bondi Beach. Hotel Ravesis is conveniently placed about a 30-minute drive from Sydney Airport and 20 minutes from the CBD. You can walk to nearby cafés and eateries, including fine-diner Icebergs Dining Room and Bar, and it’s a 10-minute drive to the designer-shopping hub of Bondi Junction.

The rooms

Hotel Ravesis

Not all the 12 rooms and suites face the beach so for the full-frontal Bondi Beach vista, choose The Loft, an open-plan suite on two levels. It has a king-sized bed and armchair and sofa. But the headline act is through the French doors: a generous, private terrace with table, wicker chairs and modern ottomans under a glass roof with large windows giving you million-dollar views. It’s the perfect spot to watch the passing seafront parade.

Food and drink

Hotel Ravesis

The restaurant has a small seasonal menu focusing on sustainable local produce. There are sharing plates like porcini pâté with housemade pickles and grilled sourdough. The pastas include vongole linguine, with the shellfish in generous numbers and pasta perfectly cooked. Enjoy mains such as barramundi, burgers (chicken and vegetarian) and steak. The desserts, a chocolate-dipped hazelnut gelato bar and grilled pineapple with coconut gelato and rum and raisin sauce, make for a sweet finish. The drinks list is comprehensive, featuring the Life’s A Beach cocktail − Absolut with Fair Goji Liqueur, lemon, passionfruit and vanilla-flavoured foam – a Slushie (frozen cocktail), wines from Australia, New Zealand, France and Italy and 10-plus gins.

For wellness travellers

Hotel Ravesis is aimed at the leisure traveller but if you’re looking to mix fitness with fun, there’s a gym 250 metres from the hotel that offers discounted access for Ravesis guests and the hotel will find out about exercise groups on Bondi Beach you can join. If you don’t need it too organised, simply having the famed stretch of sand at your disposal is an inspiration to wake early and go for a power walk and breathe the sea air.

The fab factor

Leave the French doors to the terrace open overnight and let the sound of the waves lull you to sleep.
