The Hyatt group took over the Four Points by Sheraton Sydney property. All the public spaces – lobby, bar, restaurant and fitness centre – have been overhauled and a 24-storey tower with 222 brand-new rooms has been added to the pre-existing structure. There’s a fantastic lobby bar and café that doubles as a work hub where hotel guests and locals can plonk themselves with their tablets and laptops, while the new spacious restaurant just off the lobby is the place for all-day dining with Darling Harbour views. Our money is on the rooftop bar (with a retractable roof), which is tipped to be one of the hottest new watering holes in Sydney. Its design is inspired by luxury yachts so expect a bar that curves like the hull of a boat and, of course, panoramic water views.
