Occupying an entire block on the site of Sydney’s first markets, today the Queen Victoria Building (QVB) continues to be a bustling shopping centre. Built in the late nineteenth century, its ornate stained-glass windows, grand central dome and clocks are still worthy of attention. Guided 45-minute tours run on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 11:30am for $15 (there's a High Tea option on Thursdays for $60). Relax at The Palace Tea Room or shop till you drop at over 200 specialty stores. Town Hall Station is easily accessible via the lower ground floor.
