This Sydney Salon Has a Very Chic (and Secret) Bar Attached
Ditch the herbal tea you normally sip of at your hair appointment – Christopher Hanna Salon and Lounge has something else in mind.
This CBD hair salon on Bridge Lane may have the façade of an unassuming luxury grooming spot but behind the black velvet curtain at the back of the salon, a way to continue the party awaits.
The attached bar, Bridge Lane by Christopher Hanna, extends the indulgence of its near neighbour with interiors punctuated by brass, copper and natural stone.
While your hair is getting a refresh, collect an on-tap espresso martini from the bar or pair a Friday-evening treatment with one of the carefully crafted cocktails on the recently renewed menu (you may want to take advantage of the $45 blow-dry and espresso martini offer). If you’re in for a long afternoon of luxuriating, more than 50 wines grace the drinks list.
There are also substantial share plate options spanning caviar and Galician octopus, as well as dishes that are easy to juggle while flipping through a stack of magazines, such as an impossibly cheesy toastie stuffed with four stringy varieties, including provolone and manchego.
In the market for a martini but not a head massage? The black curtain separating the two spaces is pulled across between 7pm and 9pm for bar patrons to enjoy their evening beverages on the plush velvet couches without the temptation for a makeover.
