For a laidback lunch, locals flock to The Cav: what’s not to love about cool air-conditioning, a poolside deck, well-priced fare and an extensive, though not expensive, wine list? Steak is a clear focus here but there are also pub-style favourites like beef schnitzel or, for the less carnivorous, crumbed snapper. If you’re hungry, start with soft tacos or oysters. The extremely ravenous should book for dinner Saturday or Sunday night when you can eat your fill of barbecued meat for a fixed price. The Cav does a fine breakfast, too.
