Where is Vibe Hotel Darwin Waterfront? 

Darwin’s Waterfront precinct is a pleasant little catchment in the city’s south east. It’s here that you’ll find Vibe Hotel Darwin Waterfront — the one with the palm trees swaying near the porte-cochère. It’s about 15 minutes by taxi from Darwin Airport.

What’s near Vibe Hotel Darwin Waterfront?

The Darwin Waterfront Precinct is the perfect antidote to the city’s humid weather — the saltwater lagoon and wave pool (free to enter and open until 6pm) are popular in the heat. Across the other side of the city — seven minutes away by car — Mindil Beach and its famous sunset market is the place to be, open Thursdays and Sundays.

Room types 

Functionally furnished with minimal decoration, Vibe Darwin’s rooms are no frills and no fuss. There’s minimal differentiation between room types as far as inclusions and configurations go, but one choice that really matters is the view: you’ll want to choose a room that overlooks the waterfront, not the road. 

Restaurants and bars 

Opening out onto a green expanse is Curve Restaurant & Bar, the hotel’s laidback on-site eatery. It also offers in-room dining, too. The menu has some classics — BLATs, jaffles and burgers, as well as some more surprising additions that reflect local flavours: strawberry gum panna cotta with quandong puree or Humpty Doo barramundi with lemon myrtle beurre blanc. 

Travel for work

All rooms have full-sized desks and free wi-fi, if you’re working remotely, and there are four meeting rooms on-site — one of which has a balcony overlooking the waterfront. 

Pool and gym

The hotel pool is small but sheltered, with a ring of loungers and a shallow section for younger visitors. There’s also a fitness centre on-site.

What you need to know

Still steamy at sunset? That happens in Darwin but don’t worry — the pool is open until 9.30pm.
