Combining his experience competing on MasterChef with years working in some of Brisbane’s and Sydney’s best bars, Jamie Fleming has created Alba Bar & Delicatessen, an unpretentious hideaway dedicated to pintxos-style eats, Mediterranean-accented wines and unfussy, flavour-driven cocktails.
A freewheeling change of pace from the more mannered venues around town, Alba lives within a former storage building in the CBD’s oldest laneway, attracting the post-work punters before the hip young things arrive later in the evening, drawn by relaxed service and a playlist of hip-hop and R’n’B.
