Trendy, lively, tasty – tables at this pizzeria are jammed with loyal locals who come for the moreish sourdough crusts and happening atmosphere. Toppings range from the classic (Margherita) to the adventurous (smoked pork belly with pear, provolone and chive). You can choose gluten-free bases but call ahead to request them, as there are limited numbers. It’s a very buzzing place so if you’re looking for tranquillity, book a spot next door at Cavalier Bar & Italian (+61 7 5535 9220, cavalierbarandsupper.com.au). Same owner; totally different vibe.

Location

Burleigh Heads began its life in a similar fashion to many of Gold Coast locales: as a small fishing community. Today, it’s a popular beach break and hub of activity. While there are ample accommodation options here for tourists, Burleigh is more about the locals. The streets behind the beach have a village-y feels and is hub of boutiques and eateries.
