Views of Burleigh beach, rolling waves and the distant Surfers skyline are certainly impressive here – but nowhere near as exceptional as the food. And that’s saying something because the vistas from this chic eatery are nothing short of wonderful. On the menu you’ll find a mouth-watering array; oysters, scampi, calamari, mussels, King George Whiting, whole flounder, simple fish and chips – it’s all here. Stand-out dishes include of-the-moment Patagonian toothfish, lemony fish soup (go on, get it with the oysters) or the fish pie. Pretentiousness has been left at the door and the wine list is filled with interesting drops. For seafood-lovers, this is a must visit.

Location

Burleigh Heads began its life in a similar fashion to many of Gold Coast locales: as a small fishing community. Today, it’s a popular beach break and hub of activity. While there are ample accommodation options here for tourists, Burleigh is more about the locals. The streets behind the beach have a village-y feel where you’ll find a hub of boutiques and eateries.
