Explore a magical garden
Ever been tree surfing? At Enchanted Adventure, an hour from Melbourne’s CBD, you can scale the tops of trees, slide down one of the giant tubes or get yourself lost in a maze to rival Alice in Wonderland. With gorgeous topiary sculptures and picnic areas, along with cafés, there’s plenty for the less adventurous to enjoy, too. Not to be outdone, Mount Gambier in South Australia boasts its own spectacular grounds. Or rather, underground. Known as the Umpherston Sinkhole, it’s a 20-metre-deep garden, formed out of an ancient limestone cave that today is covered in lush, green ferns and hydrangeas. The garden comes alive at twilight when possums visit to feed.
