Answer the call of the wild in the heart of the city at Adelaide Zoo, one of South Australia’s most iconic attractions. An ark-load of curious residents awaits in the lush surrounds, including star attractions Wang Wang and Funi, the only giant pandas in the Southern Hemisphere. Get up close to these gentle giants, with one of the zoo’s unique behind-the-scenes animal experiences. Follow the Meet the Keeper schedule to witness feed and play times throughout the day, and pitch your questions to those who know the animals best. Don’t miss the adorable small-clawed otters, who frolic in their watery habitat from sun up to sun down.

Location

Adelaide Zoo is just a short stroll from the central business district. Enter via Frome Road, which winds past the River Torrens in the city’s east. There’s limited metered parking nearby, and free 98A and 98C City Connector buses that drop you on the doorstep. Start your adventure ahead of time with a Popeye river cruise along the Torrens, which boards at Elder Park and disembarks at the zoo.
