Take two lungs full of fresh air and get set for the Lofty Descents Tour by Escapegoat Adventures. This guided mountain-bike mission is suitable for all experience levels, and begins with a showcase of Adelaide’s stunning skyline, as seen from Mount Lofty’s peak. A picturesque passage through bushland takes you to Cleland Wildlife Park, where you’ll encounter kangaroos, wallabies, emus and koalas. After a spot of morning tea it’s on to Cleland Conservation Park, where pristine scenery provides plenty of photo ops. Winding down through the gentle backstreets of the foothills, you’ll finally emerge into Victoria Park to the city’s east. The 18km half-day trip is all downhill, so you don’t have to be a two-wheel master to enjoy the ride of your life. Escapegoat provides a bike, helmet and gloves, but you’ll need to BYO your sense of adventure.

Location

Ian from Escapegoat will pick you up in his four-wheel drive at 9am from your accommodation in central Adelaide (or elsewhere on request). He’ll transport you to the top of Mount Lofty, guide you down by mountain bike, and have you back in central Adelaide by lunchtime.
