Know how to pronounce quinoa, prefer your smallgoods nitrate free, seek out organic, gluten free, raw and vegan, or just like amazing coffee? Let us introduce you to The Market Shed on Holland. Held each Sunday between 9am and 3pm, the market is held in, well, a shed – a rustic space filled with a colourful small bunch of stallholders that attract large crowds. Bring your appetite and try a grilled haloumi and mushroom burger from Veggie Velo bicycle cart, an Aussie beef pie from Bull Creek Bakery, a gluten-free waffle with dairy-free salted caramel ice-cream from Live a Little Artisan Gelato, or a raw cinnamon doughnut from Raw Karma. This market does get crowded, but this also means grabbing a seat next to locals at the communal tables, listening to live music and watching the crowd go by. All done? One of market’s rickshaws will cycle you to where you need to go.

Location

The Market Shed on Holland is located at the southern end of the city off King William Street. There’s plenty of business activity in the area during the week, but on Sundays the market is the main attraction. The southern parklands are short walk away.
