For the better part of a decade, Salamanca’s Tricycle has been setting the café bar high. It’s got a great egg selection, the coffee is excellent and the muffins superb. Meanwhile, the soups, perhaps with Polish sausage in winter, are always a reason to swing by. It’s also now boasting some South American inspiration on the menu, thanks to the travels of one of the owners. The café is hidden inside the Salamanca Arts Centre, where braziers heat the space and cute waiters in denim aprons ferry the food. Just look for the outside tables, with the brollies on the footpath; on nice days this is prime people-watching real estate.
