Boilermaker House

“Spoilt for choice” was never truer than at The Anvil, inside Boilermaker House. The wall behind the bar is brimming with close to 1000 varieties of whiskey from around the world at a range of price points, classified by “flavour camps” – from “Fruity Ninjas” to “Big Belters” – to help you choose. Grab cured meats and cheeses from the area dedicated to these hearty snacks or opt for a larger meal in the dining room – the grill-focused menu includes such treats as beer chicken with watermelon and radicchio salad. For special occasions with fellow whiskey aficionados, book a three-course dinner served with matching beers, whiskeys, boilermakers or cocktails.

Le Bon Ton

Get a taste of the American South with a visit to this warmly lit bar. The kitchen is run by two Alabama-born brothers so the menu reads like a greatest hits of Deep South cuisine: Texas-style smokehouse meats, Southern fried chicken, Baja fish tacos. Settle in with half a pound of brisket (served with house pickles), a side of jalapeños and cheddar cornbread muffins and a smooth whiskey, and enjoy the Southern hospitality. On warm nights, venture outside underneath the fairy lights and take in the scent of lamb ribs cooking in the smoke pit. Finish with a hearty serve of chocolate and peanut-butter mousse pie before toasting the night using the bar’s namesake phrase: Le bon ton!” (Let the good times roll!).

Leonard’s House of Love

Crave cheeseburgers with your whiskey? Then this is the spot for you. Simple is always best: gooey cheese, the perfect bun and a patty made from brisket and short ribs make these burgers the star attraction. Further feed your craving for North American fast food done better with tasty hot dogs and fried chicken or, if you prefer veggies, choose from cauliflower nachos and eggplant tenders. Finish off your meal with a Jameson Caskmates Boilermaker.

The Toff in Town

If you like your whiskey served with a side of live performance, this venue should be top of your list. Whether it’s a DJ set, album launch or comedy show, there’s often more than one act on most nights of the week. There’s a quirky design feature, too: the main bar has a train carriage running down the centre. Each booth can be made private by pulling down the blinds, closing the doors and simply buzzing for service. Try a "fearless old fashioned" cocktail (Jameson Caskmates whiskey with chocolate porter reduction and aged bitters) and pair your tipple with a tasty Thai curry at in-house restaurant Choo Choo’s until 5am on weekends.
