Make like a local and rise early to get the most from a visit to this historic market place. You can buy whatever you like here but most of the action takes place in the Deli Hall and fruit and veg sheds, as folks do their weekly shop. There’s also a general merchandise section where you can sift through tons of souvenirs, plus laneways of tiny speciality shops. Start with a cuppa from Market Lane Coffee and fuel up at the Borek Shop (it’s never too early for a cheese-and-spinach pastry) before hunting down supplies for a picnic. As you leave, grab a sweet sensation from the Spanish Donut Van on Peel Street. QVM is open Tuesday and Thursday to Sunday.
