A New Exhibition on The Titanic is Coming to Melbourne

The story of the Titanic and her ill-fated maiden voyage continues to fascinate and enthral, even 111 years after she came to rest on the floor of the North Atlantic. 

Now, visitors have the chance to experience what life was like on board the Titanic via immersive recreations of the ornate ship’s interiors – including a first-class parlour suite, third-class cabin and that iconic Grand Staircase – at Titanic: The Artefact Exhibition at Melbourne Museum (16 December 2023 to 14 April 2024). 

Fresh from its sell-out season in Paris, it’s one of the most extensive exhibitions about the British passenger liner ever seen, featuring over 200 real artefacts recovered from the wreck, an iceberg the same temperature as the waters of the North Atlantic that fateful night and stories of the guests and crew aboard the ship. 

The exhibition is part of the blockbuster summer Melbourne has planned. The city is hosting some of the season’s most exciting events, from the Australian Open 2024, the pop extravaganza Moulin Rouge! The Musical and the immersive, 360-degree BBC Earth Experience, narrated by Sir David Attenborough.
