There are 48 sun-drenched rooms, which means even the smallest is quite spacious, featuring a delicate palette of neutrals, separate sitting area and a gleaming ensuite with deep bathtub. The Como Shambhala Spa, renowned for its holistic treatments, and Wildflower restaurant – perfect for both business lunches and special-occasion dinners – further add to the hotel’s appeal.

Room types
Elegant to a tee, the rooms at Como are bright, spacious, high-ceilinged and tastefully furnished with beautiful blond furniture. Other creature comforts include electronic blinds, sprawling bathrooms and complimentary minibars that are replenished every day. Our favourite are the Heritage rooms with Juliet balcony, overlooking the serene Cathedral Square.
Restaurants and bars
There’s no dearth of exemplary dining options within the State Buildings (the site of Como The Treasury) – from David Thompson’s Long Chim Thai eatery to Petition Kitchen, one of the best places in Perth for brunch. And yet all roads lead to the hotel’s own Wildflower restaurant, located on the fourth floor. Chef Kim Brennan is at the helm with a fine-dining menu inspired by the six seasons of the Noongar people. If you’re after something more casual, head to the hotel’s Post restaurant for offerings such as tagliatelle with Shark Bay honey bug and Berkshire pork cotoletta.
Travel for work
There are a number of spaces within the hotel for corporate chinwags – from the private dining room at Post restaurant to the boardroom that can accommodate a group of 20. Even the Treasury Lounge and Bar on the hotel’s ground floor can be exclusively reserved for a gathering of up to 30 people. If your group is much larger, why not book the Wildflower restaurant where events of up to 120 can be hosted?
Spa and gym
Wellbeing is one of Como’s core values and the onsite Como Shambhala Spa is a testament to that. Complement the spa’s menu of face and body therapies with yoga classes and the Como Shambhala cuisine at Post restaurant, where healthy favourites range from dry-aged striploin with salsa verde to quinoa spaghetti with dried tomato.
