As the tallest skyscraper hotel in Paris, Porte Maillot’s Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile easily delivers on one significant drawcard: views. From its crowning glory Windo Skybar – a chic and sumptuous lounge 140 metres in the air – the city comes into exquisite view, made all the better by a glass of Champagne in hand. Read on for the full review.

With a 24-hour fully equipped fitness centre, 35 meeting rooms, and expansive city vistas that can be enjoyed from the comfort of your king-sized bed, it’s certainly possible.

At a compact 22 square metres, the standard rooms at the Hyatt Regency Étoile aren’t exactly expansive but they utilise every inch with an undeniable level of luxury and comfort. Sumptuously soft king-sized beds, flat-screen televisions (with option to personally stream from your phone) and slippers. A bathtub, sitting area and Eiffel Tower views are available in some rooms, but not all. However, each room name stipulates whether you have a view, high floor or club access, so you can be specific about what you’d like at the time of booking. Generally though, the higher you are, the better the view. Suites range from a standard 44 square metres to the presidential 102 square metres, which comes with a separate living and dining area, marble bathroom and two walk-in closets.

Restaurants and bars

Hyatt Regency Paris Étoile, France

Mayo restaurant is positioned just off of the lobby on the ground floor, offering contemporary local cuisine within a chic and vibrant setting. Dishes such as the seafood platter and braised lamb shoulder are all intended to be shared, which leans into the laid-back, relaxed dining environment.

Of course, you could always skip dinner altogether and head straight up to the Windo Skybar on the 34th floor for cocktails and tapas. We doubt you’ll regret tucking into the smoked marinated salmon with beetroot and dill (accompanied by a cold glass of Dom Pérignon, naturally) while watching the Eiffel Tower light up the night sky.

If you’re just looking for immediate gratification on your way in or out, Mayo Market – located at the entrance of the hotel – offers an array of freshly prepared snacks and drinks daily from 7am-2am, while 24/7 room service is also available.

Travel for work

Each room is equipped with a desk, wifi and a safe, should you need to stash any important documents while you head down to the fitness centre, so working from your room should be a breeze (although that could just be your individually controlled heating and air conditioning system). Handily, there is also a business centre located in the lobby of the hotel, providing computer and printer access. But if you’re looking for a more professional set-up, you might prefer one of the 35 different meeting rooms on-site. Conversely, for a less professional set-up, may we suggest Happy Hour at the Windo Bar (Mon-Wed, 5pm-8pm).
