Paris Plages

For those unable to migrate south to the coast for the summer months, the banks of Paris’ majestic river artery – from the Louvre to Pont de Sully, Port de la Gare and Bassin de la Villette – transform into a Seine-side beach holiday complete with sandy shores, deckchairs and a Deauville boardwalk. The beaching season starts on July 20 and lasts for four weeks, however, for safety reasons, swimming in the river is not permitted.
So if you are more interested in posing then sweating, make a booking at waterfront restaurant La Plage Parisienne. With a glass of rosé in hand, Paris’ urban beach begins to look more like a coastal coup with a vibe not too far off a Saint-Tropez oceanside club.
