National Museum of the 21st Century, Rome
Contemporary art and architecture buffs will struggle to resist Flaminio’s National Museum of the 21st Century, housed in a knotted box-esque building from Zaha Hadid Architects. Known as MAXXI, the museum itself is a masterpiece, with ink-coloured tube-like suspended staircases snaking through the stark white and concrete interior, mirroring the creativity of the very exhibits it displays.
