The Fifteen Keys Hotel – Hotel Review
Nestled in the village-like Monti neighbourhood of Rome, The Fifteen Keys Hotel is a stately boutique stay that will have guests swooning with its refined version of la dolce vita. In this iteration of an Italian fantasy, the walled sun terrace is the spot for a local artisanal beer, the stately rooms are primed for an afternoon riposo, the exceptionally central location makes a stroll for gelato a breeze and the views over the inimitable Roma rooftops seem ripped from a postcard. Read on for the full review.
Where is The Fifteen Keys Hotel?
The hotel is nestled in the residential neighbourhood of Monti, east of the Tiber River, in the city’s historical centre. Leonardo da Vinci Airport (also known locally as Fiumicino) is about half an hour west, reached by cab or by the Leonardo Train in the same amount of time (services leave around every 15 minutes).
What’s near The Fifteen Keys Hotel?
The city’s landmark Colosseum and adjoining Roman Forum are a glorious 14-minute stroll from the hotel, mostly down Via Nazionale. The Trevi Fountain is a little longer (16 minutes) on Via Milano. In both cases, the wander is flat and pleasant, like much of the city. Roma Termini Station, a hub for interstate trains and airport transport, is less than 10 minutes on foot in the other direction.

There’s no substandard view from any of the 15 rooms. From some, there’s the internal courtyard, from others, a glimpse of those rickety Roman rooftops. Inside, the decor is pared back and fresh, with a focus on understated comfort, from topnotch linens, comfy French beds and bright bathrooms with Malin+Goetz amenities.
Restaurants
Continuing its old-school hospitality, there’s a charming breakfast room with a very Italian spread of fruit, jams and breads that spills out onto the courtyard.
Travel for work
All rooms have work desks and the hotel has free wi-fi throughout.
