Camp Nou is the biggest stadium in Europe and doing a tour is something you should experience if you’re a football fan – or just a fan of architecture on a massive scale. What you really want to do, however, is pray to the Gods of Live Sport that there is an FC Barcelona game when you’re in town and make sure you get a ticket. It’s a pretty electric feeling, hearing the roars and watching the waving flags, scarves and signs of almost 100,000 fans.

Les Corts is where you will find most of Barcelona’s commercial high-rise buildings and, if you’re hankering for a large shopping-centre experience, the L’illa Diagonal mall. There are many metro stations within reasonable walking distance of Camp Nou; the Les Corts station is around a 650-metre walk away.
