Dedicated to the history of transport, industry and communications, the Rahmi M Koç Museum is an excellent family activity, even if you aren’t really into transport and the like. The exhibits range from early Apple Macs to beautiful vintage boats and cars; there’s even a submarine moored here, ready to be explored. The museum is located on the Halic (Golden Horn), occupying the site of a 19th century Hasköy Shipyard. It’s the private collection of Mr. Rahmi Koç the only son of Vehbi Koç the founder of Koç Holding Corp., Turkey's largest industrial conglomerate. Despite the illustriousness of the provenance, inside you can sense the fun of the collector – this museum is akin to a grown-up’s playroom or toy box.
