Where to Get the Best Coffee in London

London has a decent coffee culture. Here’s where Neil Perry likes to get his fix.

Princi

Princi is an Alan Yau concept that was brought over from Milan. It’s a bakery/café serving good coffee and lots of delicious-looking cakes, salads and pizza by the slice. I often go there in the morning and have a freshly squeezed orange juice, an espresso and a pastry. After a good walk around Soho it’s a fun thing to do.

Prufrock Café

This is a barista-training centre and café serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week. As well as the great coffee, try the Bircher muesli or avocado with chilli on sourdough for breakfast and handmade sausage rolls for lunch.

23-25 Leather Lane, London

Flat White

Flat White is a cute little café in Soho. It’s run by Australians so you know the coffee will be good. Although I’ve never eaten there, I’m sure you can get a Vegemite fix if you need one.

17 Berwick Street, London

Kaffeine

This is a great café serving really good coffee in Fitzrovia, an up-and-coming area for restaurants, hotels, art galleries and cafés between Oxford Circus and Tottenham Court Road. This is another place where you can do barista courses so the coffee is great. There are lots of pastries for breakfast and at lunch there are good baguettes and focaccias, as well as some delicious salads.
