5 Reasons The Langham is LA’s Relaxation Capital
Turn down the sweeping driveway of The Langham Huntington, Pasadena LA and suddenly your transported from the hustle and bustle of the city to a tranquil oasis. Here’s why it’s the best way to find relaxation in LA.
You don't have to leave …
While there’s plenty to do in the Pasadena area, there’s also no reason to leave The Langham. The hotel is complete with swimming pool, fitness centre, Japanese gardens for quiet strolls, and an array of eating options: The Royce is perfect for steak, the Terrace is bistro-style food and the Lobby Lounge is your go-to place for a classic afternoon tea. Craving a craft beer (or cocktail or wine for that matter)? Head to the Tap House.
It has all the creature comforts
The beds are big, the robes are fluffy and the slippers are super comfy so forget about leaving the hotel…just getting out of your room is hard enough! The Langham doesn’t miss a trick. From the leather vanity cases on the bathroom counter to the chaise lounge positioned in the best spot to take in the view of the nearby San Gabriel Mountains, everything you could want has been considered in these luxurious rooms.
You can join the club
Here's a tip for the executive traveller – book a Club Room. The rooms themselves are amazing, but what they unlock is even better. This level of room gives you access to The Langham Club Lounge. Pop in there to do a spot of work in the peace and quiet or to enjoy the large variety of food and drink you’ll find there at any time of the day. A quiet gin and tonic will put you in the right mood for dinner, while a coffee over the morning paper is the best way to start your day.
Relaxation is at your fingertips
Proving that you never have to set foot outside your LA sanctuary, the Langham Chuan Spa can take care of all your relaxation needs. It has a full range of treatments inspired by traditional Chinese medicine – think massages, facials and scrubs. By the time you've finished you'll look as good as you feel. Once you've indulged in a treatment, spend time in the 'Dream Room', sipping Chinese tea and feeling at one with yourself and LA.
…but you can leave if you want to
Pasadena is about 20 minutes from the centre of LA but it has a totally different vibe and there’s plenty to do in the area. Once you’re ready to venture outside The Langham’s gates there are some must-sees. Get The Langham’s free shuttle service to drop you at the Rose Bowl. It’s home to American football games, flea markets and music concerts and you can do public tours of the stadium on the last Friday of every month. Tours run for 90 minutes.
The Huntington Library and Gardens are well worth a visit, too. There are beautiful gardens, art galleries to peruse and a huge collection of rare books to discover. Tip: It can get hot wandering around the gardens in summer so make sure you pack a hat.
