It's hard enough to navigate the storefronts along winding Sunset Boulevard, let alone trying to find this restaurant, located behind an unmarked door. Rest assured, once found (just enter through the parking lot – it’s easier), a magical setting is revealed. Anchored by a giant ficus tree, the outdoor patio is one of the loveliest in LA. Think The Magic Faraway Tree and Jungle Book meets boho-chic. For brunch, guests dine on lemon and ricotta pancakes, eggs Benedict and truffle fries; dinner, served under twinkly fairy lights, packs a crowd, especially on Thursdays for oyster happy hour ($1 each between 6-7pm). For dessert, the Valrhona chocolate tart served with passionfruit curd is decadent. Banquettes in the elevated parts of the "treehouse" are sought after. Avoid disappointment and make a reservation, especially for Saturday and Sunday brunch.

Silver Lake, one of the oldest areas in the city, is being transformed into a hip neighbourhood. It was built around, and named after, the Silver Lake Reservoir.
