Katsuya
The dishes served by this upscale chain of Japanese-inspired restaurants match the stunning Philippe Starck interiors. A menu including sashimi, sushi rolls, omakase, hot dishes and prix fixe options means there's something for everyone. Open for lunch and dinner, the restaurants are kid-friendly, though families usually dine between 5pm-7pm as later on it morphs into a bit of a date-night spot. The Brentwood location attracts business people and locals; Americana at Brand, a mall in Glendale, features a kids’ menu; LA Live, which draws event and conference attendees, has a private room and outdoor seating; and the Hollywood location, by the Walk of Fame, recently debuted a new menu. Signature dishes include crispy rice with spicy tuna, salmon sashimi with caviar, Katsuya ceviche and baked crab hand rolls. Drinks? Sake, of course, as well as specialty cocktails and wine.
