The City of Santa Monica oversees the operation and management of four Certified Farmers Markets, which take place on Wednesdays and Saturdays in the downtown area, Saturdays at Pico Boulevard and Sundays on Main Street. The Sunday Farmers Market is the most experiential, where locals, visitors and tourists shop not only for seasonal and organic produce but freshly-baked pastries, cheese (ask for samples at Spring Hill Cheese), plants, dry-roasted almonds from Fat Uncle Farms, handmade beauty products, flowers and Groundwork coffee. You’ll also find live music, food trucks, omelette-making stations, waffles, breakfast burritos and a restaurant of the week featured at the Saturday Downtown location. Basically, arrive with an empty stomach.
