Yoga is synonymous with the city of LA. Nearly as popular is the indoor-cycling phenomenon started by the East Coast-based founders of SoulCycle, Elizabeth Cutler and Julie Rice. A hit with celebs including Taylor Swift, David Beckham, Olivia Wilde, Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, you can get in on the action at one of their seven studios around town (a new location just opened by the Walk of Fame). The 45-minute, calorie-torching classes take place in a club-like setting with the instructor as DJ, who motivates cyclists with light dimmers and uniquely choreographed routines set to dance music. It’s also a core and upper-body workout thanks to free weights. It’s a fun and energizing way to start the day.
