In the middle of Little Havana is Hoy Como Ayer, a cult Cuban jazz club and possibly the best fun you’ll have in Miami. The name means “today as yesterday” and the mood of nostalgia is evident in the classic portraits of Latin music stars that line the walls. Open Wednesday to Sunday until 3am, the entertainment rotates among regulars, including the house band Spam All Stars, but can also include big name singers who drop by to surprise the crowd. Small and boisterous, this place really kicks off after midnight – literally: it’s not unusual to see a beautiful senorita kick off her heels to bust a move.

Location

As the name suggests, Little Havana is where to go to experience Miami’s Cuban community. The main strip is on SW 8th, aka Calle Ocho – there are a lot of great hole-in-the-wall restaurants, cigar shops and live music venues.
