There are both room categories and view categories to consider. If setting trumps space in your estimation, the hotel’s Skyline rooms deliver on their namesake with exceptional glimpses of the world’s most recognisable cityscape, with smaller versions still large enough for a sofa chair positioned right in front of the window to maximise time spent in repose. The Presidential Suite is a worthy splurge if you can’t resist window watching: it has wonderful views of both Central Park and the city’s towering skyscrapers.
Restaurants and bars
All three of the on-site eateries are casual and relaxed, serving light bites and ‘grab’n’go’ style snacks, from sandwiches to pizzas and coffee. Of the two drinking spots, Lobby Lounge and Bridges Bar, the latter has the best atmosphere, with a glass wall peering directly onto busy 54th street for excellent people watching.
Travel for work
There’s an abundance of meeting spaces at the property, with the largest accommodating nearly 3000 people. (For more modest gatherings, there are a handful of meeting and boardrooms for smaller groups). Need to get through a few things solo? Wi-fi is included in the hotel’s resort fee.
Gym
The hotel’s gym is a surprisingly pleasant place to burn some calories; it’s flushed with natural light thanks to an apex roof of glass and a generous spread of cardio equipment.
Sustainability
As part of Hilton’s wider commitment to sustainability, Hilton New York Midtown Manhattan has a number of environmentally-conscious initiatives. The most notable is the 1400 square metres rooftop garden which houses a staggering 450,000 bees; the honey from which is used in the property’s cocktails and kitchens.
Accessibility
A number of rooms are reserved for travellers with disabilities, with separate rooms on offer for wheelchair-using and hearing-impaired guests.

If you’re in town for Thanksgiving, you’re in luck. The hotel is situated along the Macy’s parade route, with unobstructed views of the fun from the hotel’s 6th avenue side. You’ll need to book ahead to land these, though.
