The Greenwich Hotel
Robert De Niro’s a real wise guy, at least when it comes to creating a beautiful boutique hotel. With its reclaimed wood and Moroccan tiles, the actor’s Tribeca oasis feels like it’s existed in downtown Manhattan for decades; in truth, it’s relatively new on the scene. The one- and two-bedroom suites are suitable for those arriving with a well-behaved brood. And with its A-list connection, it’s no surprise that impressive amenities abound, including the Shibui Spa (yoga classes are also offered every morning), a lantern-lit pool area, impressive fitness studio and tranquil courtyard. Fair warning: you may be tempted to ruin your workout at Locanda Verde, Andrew Carmellini’s hotel restaurant that’s so good it still impresses locals and celebrities.
Location
The hip, lower Manhattan neighbourhood of Tribeca is known for its abundant shopping and dining options. Its gleaming multimillion-dollar converted warehouses and industrial spaces are home to many families, sports stars and celebrities, including Tribeca Film Festival founder Robert De Niro.
