Where the Style Mavens behind Viktoria & Woods go in New York
Margie Woods and Lisa Reynolds – the duo behind one of Australia’s most prominent and fashionable design labels Viktoria & Woods – are the epitome of all things stylish and chic. The label has experienced imitable success since its launch in 2005. If you’re not already convinced, you’ll be impressed to know A-listers such as Cate Blanchett, Jesinta Franklin and Lindy Klim have all be spotted in the cool label. Outside of Australia, the duo regularly visit New York City for both business and pleasure. Here, they share the shops they always visit when in the bustling city and where to find a decent coffee.
Start the day at…
Two Hands Café. The owners are Australian and although we are always keen to eat the local cuisine, it’s also good to have a breakfast joint you can rely on. The coffee is second to none and everything on the menu is sublime… especially the smashed avocado on toast.
Head to the boutiques in…
SoHo – it’s unbeatable. It’s so easy to walk around the streets which are home to some of our favourite shops. Visit Wooster Street for Céline and Byredo, then make your way to Greene Street to check out Acne Studios and Saint Laurent.

Then invest in some vintage styles at…
What Goes Around Comes Around in SoHo. It’s is a highly curated vintage store specialising in accessories. Collette Consignment on the Upper East Side is another store we love – you will never need to rifle through racks there.
The one store not to be missed is…
The Apartment by The Line. It’s set up like an actual apartment and you can walk through each of the rooms looking at homewares, jewellery and garments presented in his and hers walk-in wardrobes.
Get some market bargains at…
Artists & Fleas. It’s situated just beneath the High Line in the Meatpacking District and showcases the best of art, design, fashion and vintage pieces with new sellers all the time.

And stock up on beauty bargain…
Space NK Apothecary on Prince Street in SoHo stocks some of our favourite brands (ByTerry, Darphin and Hourglass) but also some we don’t have in Australia. It’s a one-stop shop.
End the day with a drink at…
Jimmy at The James. On the 18th floor of The James Hotel in SoHo, the décor is cool and the drinks are Americana-inspired using syrups and bitters made in-house. Try a Grilled Pineapple Mojito on the Rooftop Deck looking out over the cityscape.
