How to Keep Busy at LA Airport
Here are 5 ways to make the most of a layover at Los Angeles International Airport, writes Alison Boleyn.
Pat a pup
Through the LAX Pets Unstressing Passengers program, therapy dogs roam the gate areas of Departures levels, providing cuddles while their handlers offer help with information and directions.
Splurge on designer threads
There are plenty of reasons to squeeze in one last shopping spree in the Tom Bradley International Terminal, including Michael Kors, Bulgari, Hugo Boss, Emporio Armani and that Los Angeles institution, Fred Segal.
Keep the kids entertained
Parents eager to let their kids burn off some pre-flight exuberance can do so at Westfield’s LAX Beach children’s play area, a seaside-themed playground with a slide and interactive toys in the Tom Bradley International Terminal.
Be pampered
Escape the crowds at one of two XpresSpa locations with a 15-minute neck-and-back massage or completely unwind with a 90-minute table session. Elsewhere, Bliss offers customers free mini-facials and Jo Malone gives free hand massages.
Go sightseeing
Well-timed travellers can visit the Theme Building and Observation Deck for stunning views of the airport and its surroundings on the second weekend of each month. But don’t linger long – the futuristic Theme Building is in a pre-security area of the airport.
