She travels for work “at least once every 10 days” and it’s her business to make it look effortless. Model-cum-beauty-mogul Miranda Kerr shares her tips for a stress-free journey and how to keep things fresh after a long-haul flight. (Hint: with a little help from her Kora Organics skincare range.)

What are some of your wardrobe carry-on essentials?
A cashmere Louis Vuitton hoodie, white cotton T-shirt, silk eye mask, black blazer and Mother denim jeans.

Do you have any tips for travelling light?
After all these years I still haven’t managed to master travelling as light as I’d like. I’m one of those people who likes to pack for any eventuality, especially given I’m generally visiting several different countries on each trip, with varying weather. And because I’ve had my luggage lost so many times I like to pack essentials in my carry-on, too: a blazer, fresh blouse, underwear, ballet flats, high-waisted jeans, make-up bag, sunglasses and vitamins.

What’s in your inflight beauty bag?
The Kora Organics Vitamin Enhanced Lip Balm, Age-Defying Phytox Oil and Tinted Day Cream, as well as RMS’s Lip2Cheek, menthol rub, tweezers and a rose-quartz crystal.

What’s your all-time favourite place you’ve been to and why?
I’ve been fortunate to visit some of the most amazing and picturesque places on earth for my work but a few stand out. The sunrises in South Africa are magical. I also love cherry blossom season in Japan, and the beaches in Australia are some of the most beautiful in the world.

What’s the secret to a stress-free journey?
Preparation, especially if you’re travelling with a child. Other than that, an eye mask, warm socks and a good book.

How do you unwind on the plane?
Meditation, stretching and reading – sometimes a good movie!

How do you stay healthy while travelling?
I travel with my vitamins, a skipping rope and resistance bands, and I exercise where and when possible. Also, I avoid carbonated and alcoholic drinks when flying and stick to water.

Do you have any quick beauty fixes if you’re looking tired after a flight?
Fresh air and splashing your face with cold water! I take off my make-up and apply the Kora Organics Luxurious Rosehip Oil to protect and hydrate my skin and I also spritz my face throughout the flight using one of my mists – rose, lavender or citrus.

How do you deal with jet lag?
I drink lots of water, avoid alcohol while flying and go for a walk in the fresh air when I arrive. I also love to take off my shoes and put my feet in the grass.

What’s the best day spa you’ve ever been to?I went to a traditional onsen [hot spring] in Japan and it was amazing. I also love Turkish and Russian baths, where they do intensive full-body scrubs and massages.

Where in the world is your favourite restaurant?
Actually, I love picnics. It’s so much fun visiting local markets, buying a bottle of wine and just sitting out and enjoying the culture, atmosphere and local produce.

What’s on your bucket list?
India! I have wanted to go for so long and am so surprised I haven’t yet.
