Are Qantas Points the Only Reward I Earn as a Frequent Flyer?

Qantas Frequent Flyer Tiers

Earning points on eligible Qantas, partner and alliance airlines* is one of the great perks of being a Qantas Frequent Flyer member. As these accumulate, you can redeem them for future flights, upgrades and other online purchases at the Rewards Store, Qantas Wine and Qantas Hotels.

But in addition to earning points, when you fly on Qantas and oneworld partner airlines you also earn Status Credits*. These credits contribute to your Frequent Flyer tier and help you access additional bonuses and rewards through flying, including seating privileges, additional luggage allowance, complimentary lounge access, upgrades using points and more.

The more Status Credits you earn, the higher your tier. Here are some of the bonuses, tier by tier:

Bronze

If you’re a Bronze Frequent Flyer you have the ability to earn Qantas Points on your flights, as well as with all program partners such as Uber, Red Energy, Vodafone and more. You also get access to Classic Flight Reward+ seats and upgrades, plus you can redeem Qantas Points through the Rewards Store, Qantas Wine and Qantas Hotels.

Silver

Frequent Flyers with Silver status can look forward to a range of benefits when booking Qantas flights, including a priority phone service and complimentary seat selection. When purchasing flights, you’ll also earn more Qantas Points than the program’s entry-level Bronze flyers: 50 per cent more if you fly with Qantas or Jetstar and 25 per cent more if you fly with American Airlines*. Your experience at the airport is made all the more comfortable thanks to priority check-in, an extra checked baggage allowance^ and a complimentary lounge invitation~ to use over the course of your Silver membership.

Gold

When you have Gold Frequent Flyer status, you’re eligible for everything that Silver members receive plus you’ll earn an even greater number of Qantas Points when you fly. In fact, book with Qantas, Jetstar or American Airlines and you’ll earn 75 per cent more*. At the airport, you can enjoy priority boarding, priority baggage, access to premium security lanes and domestic and international Qantas lounge access~. As you’re now also a Oneworld Sapphire tier holder, you can access other Oneworld lounges – there are more than 600 around the globe~.

Platinum

When you reach Platinum status, you’ll receive everything that Gold and Silver members receive, with additional perks to recognise and reward your loyalty. These include priority economy seat purchases** and priority international upgrades over Silver and Gold members^^. As a Platinum tier member, you’ll also earn 100 per cent more Qantas Points when flying with Qantas, Jetstar or American Airlines*. At the airport, you can enjoy access to the Qantas First lounge for international flights and Qantas Business or Club lounges for domestic flights~.

Platinum One

The highest tier in the Qantas Frequent Flyer program includes even more bonuses and benefits. In addition to enjoying the same benefits as Platinum members, Platinum Ones can look forward to international upgrade requests confirmed from seven days before departure, 24/7 access to a dedicated Platinum One support team and access to extra seats when booking Qantas Classic Flight Rewards and Classic Upgrade Rewards+. In addition, Platinum Ones receive a complimentary Platinum membership to gift to a family member or friend.
