The best time to visit is in October to catch the annual Blackall Heartland Festival, featuring exhibitions, music, billy-cart racing and even a shearing competition. Visit in Summer to cool off in the therapeutic artesian spa or swim laps in the Olympic sized pool at the Blackall Aquatic Centre. The outback summers are hot, they are far less humid than the coastline. As storms and heavy rains can occur during summer, minor flooding can cut access to towns you may be travelling to.
