Lounge entry terms and conditions

Entry into a Qantas branded lounge is subject to the following terms and conditions.

Effective 7 December 2023

Eligibility

1.1 Qantas Lounge access eligibility is conditional and based on the class of travel for your next onward flight, the Frequent Flyer Membership tier or your Qantas Club membership status.

1.2 Eligible guests can access the lounge once only for an onward flight and must be accompanied by the eligible customer.

1.3 Entry is subject to space availability and lounge staff have full discretion to deny lounge entry due to capacity or operational reasons.

1.4 Qantas staff have the discretion to refuse entry to person at any time if, in their reasonable opinion, the person has not or will not comply with these terms and conditions, or the refusal is necessary or convenient for the orderly operation of the lounge or other facilities or the safety or comfort of others.

1.5 Smart, casual dress standards apply as a minimum at all times and entry may be refused if customers do not meet that standard. Bare feet or clothing with offensive images or slogans are not acceptable. In addition, individual lounges may have rules regarding specific items of clothing which are not acceptable. Individual lounge managers will have discretion to administer these standards as they reasonably deem appropriate in the circumstances.

1.6 You may be required to show identification when entering the lounge to confirm your eligibility. For example you may be required to show your Qantas Club membership card or photo identification.

Lounge etiquette

2.1 Lounge operating hours are subject to change and are determined by Qantas in its absolute discretion.

2.2 When in the lounge, you must be respectful to all staff, other customers and guests.

2.3 You’re responsible for ensuring you have enough time to board your flight.

2.4 You must adhere to Qantas Dress Guidelines to enter the lounge.

2.5 While in the lounge, children under 18 years must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

2.6 Customers under the legal drinking age must be accompanied by an adult in any Qantas operated lounge. Legal drinking age may vary in different jurisdictions and countries.

2.7 Responsible service of alcohol requirements apply:

(a) You must not drink excessively.

(b) Unruly behaviour (including due to the consumption of alcohol) isn’t acceptable.

General

3.1 Personal information is collected upon entry and a condition of entry is that you acknowledge Qantas will collect and use the information you provide to Qantas for the purpose of Qantas or any of its related bodies corporate providing services to you, including for:

(a) operational and safety reasons; and

(b) to assess Qantas Lounge access eligibility.

This information may be transferred to or from Australia for these purposes. If all or any part of requested information is not provided, the relevant services may be affected. For more information of Qantas’ Privacy Policy, including how to access your information, refer to qantas.com.

3.2 All federal, state and/or territory laws and regulations applicable to the lounge location will apply, including laws, regulations and additional conditions that are applicable to hospitality venues.

3.3 You are liable for any loss or damage Qantas incurs as a result of your wilful or reckless damage to the lounge and any furnishings or equipment, except to the extent that Qantas has contributed to the loss or damage.

3.4 To the extent permitted by law, Qantas shall not be liable to any lounge user for any direct or indirect loss, damage, personal injury, property damage or expense that may be incurred in connection with access to the lounge (including any such loss, damage, injury or expense suffered in connection with the supply of goods or services by third parties), save to the extent such loss or damage arises directly from any breach of these Terms and Condition or the law, negligence or wilful misconduct by Qantas.

3.5 Qantas acknowledges that certain jurisdictions’ laws imply terms, conditions or warranties into contracts for the supply of goods or services that cannot be excluded. For example, for consumers in Australia, certain services come with statutory guarantees under the Competition and Consumer Act 2010 (Cth) that they will be provided with due care and skill and be reasonably fit for their purpose. Clause 3.4 is not intended to exclude or restrict the application of such laws.

3.6 Individual lounge opening hours may vary by location.
