With a wonderful tropical climate, Vanuatu weather is typically great all year round however conditions are generally at their best from April to October when the weather is fine and temperatures are warm yet comfortable, averaging between 18 and 28°C. This makes the perfect time for swimming, enjoying the sun and clear blue skies. The wet season runs from November to March, however showers are usually short, though it's humid. The hottest month in Port Vila is February, with an average
high of 31°C and the sea is a very warm 21°C.

Bauerfield International Airport (VLI), is an airport located in Port Vila, Vanuatu. The airport is rather small in size and open from 7am to 6pm. The airport is just 10 minutes from the city centre.

The staff at Port Vila Airport will greet you when you land and assist with your travel needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are different transport options available to get you on your way.         

Getting into Port Vila from from Port Vila Airport

Buses are avilable night and day, and though there is no public transport, there are a number of privately owned mini buses which operate throughout Port Vila and to the airport. Most resorts and hotels also provide their guests with transfers or you may wish to hire a car or pre-book a transfer from one of the various companies. Car hire desks are located inside the terminal. Taxis are readily available, budget friendly and a convenient way to travel.

Getting around Port Vila

Getting around Port Vila is easy with a varity of transport options to suit your needs. Taxis are plentiful and are all metered although some may agree to a fixed rate. Mini buses offer frequent services, though don't run on a regular timetable, just flag one down and let the driver know where you want to go. Cars, 4WDs and jeeps are available to hire to travel around the island, or you can join a boat tour to see more of the islands.

Perth Airport. Located 15 km (9 miles) from the city centre, Perth Airport (PER) is the busiest and largest airport in Western Australia. All Qantas operated flights (international and domestic) operate from Terminal 3 and 4 (T3/T4) precinct.
