When to visit

The best time to visit Amman is in spring, March through to May with warm temperatures from 17°C to 28°C in May. It’s the most popular time for sightseeing the Citadel, souks and gardens dotted through the city. Summers are very hot (June though to September) reaching 40°C making it sticky to see the sights. Winters are cold dropping to single digits and some rain.

The staff at Amman International Airport will greet you when you land to assist with your travel needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are various transport options available to get you on your way.         

Getting into Amman from Amman Airport

Getting into Amman city from Amman Airport is easy, with a few transport options available. Taxis at Amman Airport work with fixed and public rates. It’s the most convenient option taking 40 minutes to downtown. Uber is another option and a safe way to travel. Sariyah Airport Express Bus runs to Amman every 30-60 minutes 24 hours a day. There are car hire options available at the terminal and it's best to book in advance.

Getting around Amman

Getting around Amman is easy with a range of minibuses, yellow city buses, metered taxis, Uber or renting a car. Buses operate along a number of routes throughout the city and downtown. Taxis and Uber are a safe and convenient way to travel or you can hire a bike or join a tour. The roads can be a bit chaotic, so driving might not be the best option.
