Arrival information

What is the main airport called?

Wenzhou Longwan International Airport (WNZ). It is the airport serving the city of Wenzhou in southern Zhejiang Province, China. The airport is located 24 km southeast of the city.

Arriving in Wuhan

The staff at Wuhan Airport will greet you when you land and assist with your travel needs. Once you collect your bags from the arrivals area, there are various transport options available to get you on your way.

Getting into Wuhan from Wuhan Airport

By taxi you can transfer from Wuhan Airport to the city centre in approximately 30 minutes from the airport, though there can be a lot of traffic. Taxi ranks are located at terminal 3. It's best to have your destination written in Chinese to show it to the driver. Otherwise, you may wish to book a taxi through DiDi from the airport, (China's version of Uber) for a comfortable way to travel. There are multiple bus routes from the airport to various stops in Wuhan. Shuttle buses are located at the transportation centre located underneath Terminal 3. The trip time takes from 40 to 90 minutes, depending on your destination. Wuhan Airport is well connected to the city centre by the airport rail link. You can transfer to many destinations within the city centre such as Hankou Railway Station (14 minutes) and Xiaogan Railway Station (30 minutes). The metro is a safe and convenient option with regular services. Board Wuhan Metro Line no.2 and get to the city in around 30 minutes. You can rent a car, though you need a Chinese driver license and traffic can be heavy, so you would be best to organise a hotel transfer or private transfer.

Getting around Wuhan

With a range of transport options to explore Wuhan, getting around the city centre is easy. Choose from public transport, taxi, ferry or join a tour. Wuhan has a cheap and efficient bus system, though it can be confusing as most signs are in Chinese. It's a good idea to have a local guide help you navigate the city by bus. An easier way to get around is to use the metro and download a metro app on your phone. Signs are in English and Chinese and all-important transport hubs are linked via metro. Taxis are available and be sure to get the meter turned on, or you can book a taxi through DiDi, (China's version of Uber). By ferry, you can travel across the Yangzi River, that offers nice views of the city, the Number One Yangtze River Bridge and Yellow Crane Tower.
