Group Boarding

We’re always looking for new ways to improve your journey, which is why we’re introducing a smoother and faster boarding experience.

About group boarding

This new way of boarding allocates every passenger into different boarding groups dependent on their seat location and Qantas Frequent Flyer status. Each group will be called separately to board through a designated lane, to help reduce congestion at the gate and create a smoother boarding experience for everyone.

You can expect to board by group when departing Brisbane, Perth, Melbourne and Sydney airports on our domestic B737, A330 and 787 fleets. International flights departing from Perth and Sydney airport will also board by group.

Steps for boarding

Once you have arrived at the airport, follow these three simple steps.
