Following an extensive and careful review of the Singapore-based low-cost carrier, Jetstar Asia (3K), the difficult decision has been made to permanently close the intra-Asia airline from 31 July 2025.

Jetstar Asia’s (3K) business has been increasingly challenged in recent years by rising supplier costs, high airport fees, and intensified competition in the region.

The closure of Jetstar Asia only impacts the 16 intra-Asia Pacific routes operated by the airline from its base in Singapore. There is no impact to any Jetstar Airways (JQ) flights, including JQ international flights between Australia and Southeast Asia, or any Jetstar Japan (GK) flights.  There is no impact to any Qantas operated flights.

Jetstar Asia (3K) flights will continue to operate until 31 July 2025 on a progressively reduced schedule. 

If you have an upcoming Qantas international booking which includes a Jetstar Asia (3K) operated sector from/to Singapore that is impacted, we will contact you directly regarding your options, including a full refund.  

There is no need for you to do anything at this time. If your flight is impacted, we’ll notify you by SMS and email using the contact details provided in your booking or via your Travel Agent. You can also check your flight details through the Qantas App or via Manage booking online. For real-time updates, see Flight Status.

If you are not contacted with any schedule changes, your original flight will operate as planned, and there is no action needed.

Due to terminal upgrades at Sydney International Airport (T1), access to Gates 24-26 may be restricted until boarding commences. Passengers should check the flight information display screens and only proceed to the gate when your flight number is displayed for boarding.
