Using your Complimentary Lounge Invitation

Find out how you can link, unlink your Complimentary Lounge Invitations to your flight, as well as how to transfer your Invitation to another Frequent Flyer.

About your invitations

A Complimentary Lounge Invitation is an invitation to enjoy the Qantas lounge before you fly, or gift to another Qantas Frequent Flyer. The invitation provides single-visit access to eligible Qantas-operated lounges when your next onward flight has a Qantas (QF) or Jetstar (JQ, 3K, GK) flight number. You can only use a Platinum One Complimentary Lounge Invitation with a Qantas (QF) flight number.

To ensure smooth entry into the lounge, present your linking confirmation email along with your boarding pass at the lounge entrance. You can access the lounge once check-in at the airport for your flight opens.

Complimentary Lounge Invitations are exclusive to Qantas Frequent Flyers and are subject to the Complimentary Lounge Invitations terms and conditions, Qantas Club terms and conditions and dress guidelines

Things to know

There are some important things to know about before you arrive at the airport.

Ensure you link your invitation to your flight at least 24 hours before departure.

Be sure to check lounge opening hours and location. Some lounges may not be in the same terminal as your departure gate and may not be convenient for you to access.

Don’t forget to review our lounge dress guidelines.

Your invitation is for single-visit access to the lounge and doesn’t include guests or children. You can buy a lounge pass if you would like to bring a guest into the lounge with you.

Your invitation cannot be used with Group Booking flights.

Managing your invitations

To manage your Complimentary Lounge Invitations, Log in to your Frequent Flyer account, scroll down to Complimentary Lounge Invitations and select 'Manage Lounge Passes’ to transfer or unlink your invitations. You can also see the number of invitations you have available.

Linking your invitations

Use your Complimentary Lounge Invitations before they expire. Link them to your flight at least 24 hours before departure to avoid any wait time at the lounge.

To link your invitation to a flight booking:

Log in to your Frequent Flyer account.
Scroll down to Complimentary Lounge Invitations and select 'Manage Lounge Passes'.
Click the ‘Link or buy’ option that is next to your flight details. If you have a multi-city flight booking, only the first city will be shown.
Select the invitation you’d like to use and click ‘Link’.
Once you link the invitation to your booking, you’ll receive a confirmation email.
Present the confirmation email along with your boarding pass at the lounge entrance.

Unlinking your invitations

You can unlink your invitation up to 24 hours before your flight departs.

To unlink your Complimentary Lounge Invitation:

Log in to your Frequent Flyer account.
Under ‘Linked or transferred invitations’, you will see your linked Complimentary Lounge Invitations.
Select the lounge you want to unlink and confirm.
The status of your invitation will return to ‘Available’, provided it has not expired, and can be linked to another eligible flight.
You won’t be able to unlink your invitation within 24 hours of departure or if you have changed or cancelled your flight in that time.

If Qantas or Jetstar changes your flight within 24 hours of departure, your invitation will automatically link to your new flight. If your flight is cancelled, request that your invitation is reinstated.

Transfer your invitations

To transfer your Complimentary Lounge Invitation:

Log in to your Frequent Flyer account.
Scroll down to Complimentary Lounge Invitations and select 'Manage Lounge Passes'.
Select ‘Transfer invitation’ on the invitation you would like to transfer.
Once you have selected ‘Transfer invitation’, you will then need to provide recipient’s information including their Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number and Last name.
The recipient will soon find their Complimentary Lounge Invitation in their Frequent Flyer account.
