With three days in Singapore, you'll be kept busy exploring this beautiful country, with its fusion of cultures, rich history, its mix of architecture and its natural beauty. Landing from London late afternoon, you'll want to quickly drop off luggage at your hotel and get out exploring, for your first night we recommend catching the light show at Gardens by the Bay. During your stay there will be so much to discover, below we've suggested some things you might want to include:

Spend a day at Marina Bay

You can easily spend a whole day enjoying the beautiful Marina Bay. Stop by the Merlion fountain at Merlion Park, before walking round the bay and admiring the Esplande Theatres, referred locally as "the durian", where you might be lucky and catch a free performance. Carry on round the bay and walk across the Helix Bridge to reach the towers of Marina Bay Sands and the Art Science Museum. For a great view of the city, head to the observation deck of Marina Bay Sands.

Explore Joo Chiat/Katong

Some of the best examples of Perenakan (descendants of Chinese-Malay marriages from 17th century) architecture can be found in Katong and along Joo Chiat Road. Visit the beautiful shophouses and learn about the Perenakan culture, see a beading demonstration and visit the many culture gallaries in the area. Look out for the intricately beaded slippers and visit the Perenakan Museum to learn more about the culture and heritage.

Be dazzled at Gardens by the Bay

Home to two large dome conservatories and a Supertree grove, Gardens by the Bay is quite a spectacle. The Flower Dome is a floral wonder with its seasonal exhibits, while the Cloud Forest Dome is a more steamy affair, boasting the world's tallest indoor waterfall. Something to not miss while here the is the free, twice nightly, dazzling Garden Rhapsody shows in the Supertree Grove - where the beautiful towering structures light up!

Discover Pulau Ubin

Visit Pulau Ubin

Discover the last Kampung (village) of Singapore and feel like you have stepped back in time. Located North East of Singapore, you can catch a bumboat from Changi Point Ferry Terminal to this idyllic island and discover the shrines, swamps and local flora and fauna. Cycle the various trails round the island and while there head over to Chek Jawa, a natural wonder of contrasting ecosystems you'll not be able to resist exploring.

Stroll through Kampong Glam

With its magnificent golden domes, the Sultan mosque is an iconic landmark you can't miss. This area is steeped in Malay culture and history with plenty to see and do. You can stroll along Arab Street and peruse the various trinckets in the shophouses. Visit the Malay Hertitage Centre, to learn more about the area's history and see the showcase of artefacts as well as magnificent Malay royal regalia.

Macritchie Nature Trail and Singapore Botanic Gardens

Spend a morning at Macritchie Nature Trail and Resevoir Park in the heart of Singapore. Home to lush rainforests, enjoy walking the nature trails and spotting the long-tailed monkies and flying lemurs. Not too far from Macritchie Resevoir Park is the Singapore Botanical Gardens, home and some of the tallest tree species in South East Asia. Enjoy this garden and wander through the National Orchid Garden.
