14 Luxury Hotels Your Dog Will Love as Much as You Do

The world's best pet friendly hotels

Planning a holiday? Your four-legged friend doesn't have to stay at home. These days there's a range of pet-friendly hotels that cater to canine travellers with special touches like doggie beds, pet room service menus and on-staff dog walkers. Here's 14 of the world's best.

Hotel Nikko, San Francisco

This San Francisco hotel is so pet-friendly it's got even a dog on staff. Buster Presutti Posey is Hotel Nikko’s COO – that’s Canine Operating Officer, of course – tasked with the very important job of making guests smile. Your own pup will be catered for with comfortable beds, bowls and treats at check-in, as well as access to a large terrace where you can play catch (tennis balls provided).

Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay, Tokyo

Chicken and broccoli risotto, hamburgers and sautéed salmon are just some of the dishes you can order from the room service menu at the Sheraton Grande Tokyo Bay – for your dog, that is. The special for-pets food menu is only one of the ways the Japanese hotel goes above and beyond to cater to your furry friend. There’s also a special Dog Lounge, where your animal can get a wash and haircut, and the Dog Cabin Service, where you can leave your dog in the care of minders before going out for the day.

The Ace, Los Angeles

Ace Hotel

Each one of The Ace’s luxury hotels – from London to Palm Springs – is pet friendly. But start out with a trip to the downtown Los Angeles property, where your pup can run around the spacious rooms (which are as large as 58 square metres), as well as access the rooftop pool bar and the patio of the on-site restaurant Best Girl. Get in touch ahead of time if you plan to bring an animal “stranger or larger” than a dog.

Capella Singapore

Dogs and cats alike are welcome at Capella, a luxury resort on the Singaporean holiday island of Sentosa. From the hotel you can easily stroll down to the shores of Palawan Beach with your furry friend (well, maybe not the cat) or just stay put – with the property set across 12 hectares, there’s plenty of room to roam.

Jumeirah Living World Trade Centre Residence, Dubai

Few places do silver service quite like Dubai and that extends to our four-legged friends. This luxury residence comes equipped with a “doggie concierge” who’ll ensure your pet has the best holiday ever – whether that means breakfast in bed, pampering sessions or a walk around the block. They’ll even pet-sit when you head out.

The Milestone Hotel, London

The team at this London hotel really goes the extra mile. Dogs checking in to the five-star Milestone receive a welcome hamper full of dog treats, toys, pooper scooper bags and a Milestone dog tag, while the rooms come with special "Do not disturb: pet sleeping" door tags and your choice of doggie doonas, cushions or sleeping mats. They’ll even bake your pup a cake on its birthday.

Hotel Cappuccino, Seoul

Hotel Cappuccino

Hotel Cappuccino doesn’t just accept dogs, it loves dogs – and that means providing it with its own bed, toys and irresistibly cute canine-sized pyjamas. The best bit? The hotel donates part of the fee for its pet-friendly rooms to a local dog charity.

The Orlando Hotel, Los Angeles

A turn-down service for dogs? It exists. At The Orlando, your VIP (Very Important Puppy) will be treated like a celebrity with an Urban Spa Getaway package. Pup receives a shampoo, paw massage and “pawdicure” at the Vanderpump Dogs spa while you're treated to a facial and blow-dry at the human equivalent. And this being Los Angeles, the turn-down doggie snacks are health-conscious.

Cliveden House, Berkshire

Just 40 minutes outside of London you’ll find this palatial hotel, which is surrounded by more than 100 hectares of dog-friendly walking trails. As well as getting to breathe in all that country air your pooch will also be spoiled with a plush dog bed and an in-room doggie dining menu.

Pentahotel, Hong Kong

All Penta hotels are pet-friendly but the Kowloon location has the added bonus of being just 10 minutes walk from Mikiki, the San Po Kong district's first pet-friendly shopping mall. The mall is home to Pet Café where pets and owners both enjoy high tea and there are even strollers in case your dog wants to put her feet up.

Egerton House Hotel, London

Egerton House

Your dog can enjoy the one-on-one consultation with a professional groomer at the day spa of London’s Egerton House Hotel (pictured top) – yes, really. As well as offering grooming services, the high-end property keeps pups fed with meals of lamb or beef tenderloin and offers dog-sitting and walking services. Your pooch will even get to use his own embroidered pet towel.

Kimpton Sir Francis Drake Hotel, San Francisco

Be they furry, feathery or scaly, companions of all sorts are welcome at the Kimpton, where they stay free. The hotel chain even employs special Directors of Pet Relations, who’ll be there to greet your animal on arrival, while the concierge can provide you with a list of nearby pet-friendly restaurants, parks and groomers. Creatures big and small are also welcome at the Kimpton’s nightly wine receptions.

Ohtel, Wellington

The studio rooms at Wellington’s boutique Ohtel cater to canines by providing bowls and bedding. Just a few minutes walk from Oriental Bay beach, your canine friend will be splashing in the water in no time.

Pearl Hotel, Honolulu

Take your dog on the tropical holiday he deserves with a stay at this Hawaiian resort, just minutes from the fabled stretches of Waikiki Beach. The pet-friendly Pearl Hotel has spacious rooms with full kitchens, but the best bit is bringing your best friend to paradise.
