Cassegrain is a vineyard that mixes it up, with gourmet food, wine made from vines planted by an immigrant French family in the 1950s and a horse riding centre. Although just off the busy Pacific Highway, slightly south of Port, the winery has pretty, tranquil grounds adorned with flame trees, hundreds of rose bushes and topiary gardens. A friendly atmosphere pervades throughout from the cellar door to onsite restaurant Seasons, which overlooks the vines and gardens.

The Port Macquarie Horse Riding Centre is based at Cassegrain, offering trail rides around the estate and private lessons for beginners through to those with experience.
